^ that was probably a W7 JL.... there top of the line model. JL makes cheaper models that still pound and remember if you buy a box make sure its made for your f150.

Yeah man no way they sell a w7 in a vehicle specific box for $750, maybe the driver itself...also a w7 is too deep to fit under the seat so there's just no way.

OP: I checked it out and the crutchfield deal is also a rip-off. If you want help we need details. What you're looking to spend, type of response your looking for etc.

^ok, I'm in my mid 30's so I'm not a basshead but I can appreciate the slam of a good rap song. Rap n R&B is what I'll be playing. I want good sound on the inside and maybe when I want to act like I'm in my twenties and have the window down I'd like it to sound ok. Priority is inside sound quality.

I guess I'd be willing to spend about $500 or so for sub(s), box, and amp.

my cheap phone won't let me post a link to that crutchfield combo but it was a vehicle specific box for a 06-08 screw with a 10inch JL. I don't remember which model JL, tho.

Dont waste your money on overpriced JL equipment. Go with a TC sounds 8in sub and Arc Audio mini 500.1. Far superior to JL for the same price! Youll be very satisfied to say the least.

As a starter setup, I just purchased a single 10" pioneer sub 1000w peak 200RMS (used kind of beat up but damn it hits), Kenwood 1000W peak and 500rms (new), and R/T Obcon box....costing me $348. I was fine with condition of the sub since its going under my backseat.

I installed it myself. It is currently in a temporary enclosure until my Obcon rear supercrew box arrives. Sounds decent and provides enough bass for my liking.

Its really not that diffcult to DIY. I just followed instructions from youtube videos and read up online. It probably saved me $250 for install parts and labor or more depending on the shops hourly rate. I plan on installing the amp under the driver seat but that could depend on where the brake lines are located.

Pics are posted on my page.

Hope this gives you a good frame of reference.

I also looked into crutchfields vehicle specific boxes with subs. JL came up but $750 for one 10 in a nicely fitted box is way too much.
Check this out.

^^Now that's what I'm talking about!! Now I know I just cant throw any 12inch sub in that box, well, at least if I want the best sound quality. I need to do some homework.

I have a custom box that came with my truck when i bought it. It had two 10s in it but i gave those to my brother. I know it will fit both the screw and scab trucks. I don't know any specs. Systems are not my thing. Its been in my garage for a year now just waiting for a new home. I do know you have to remove the jack under the back passenger seat to make this fit. Down firing, well built! Will ship make offer I'm not using it.
