I've read through a large majority of the threads here, and I'm still confused. Can i use 6.5 Component Speakers in the front doors of my truck or do I need to stick with 6x8's or 5x7's?

For those that went with the Infinity Reference 6832cf speakers, did you keep the factory tweeter connected?

I installed 4 Infinity Reference X 6x8 2-ways in my Screw, and also added the Infinity Reference X Tweeters in stock A-Pillar location all off the Stock HU! Sounds Great, just needs a little more bass! You can use components, You'll just need Adapter Plates to make them fitting the doors!

i suggest using a 6.5" component system. Better sound quality out of a round speaker opposed to an oblong one.

Agreed. Usually dig a little deeper than a 5x7 as well. I'm looking at the JBL P660c set

Plenty of room for 6.5" speakers. Get the adapter plate off Amazon or make your own. Very easy to do. The speakers usually come with mounting templates.
