Newbie help
Hey guys...
I currently have new 2018 with the cheaper stereo system.
I am a complete rookie when it comes to installing and buying equipment.
I currently have a dual sub box with two 10 inch kickers from my previous truck.
I also want to add Polk coaxils 6x9 in the front speakers
I also need to add an amp to power the subs and speaker....what size do I need?? Channels etc
thanks everyone

What kind of speakers and subs ? What kind of power can they handle ? 2ohm or 4 ohm speaker and subs ?
To me it sounds like you would want two separate amps to power the subs and speakers. However someone with more audio knowledge then me could give better advice.

Do a search for forescan first. You'll need something like this to get a clean signal to the amps. Then find an amp that will match the power needed for your door speakers. PM me if you want quotes.

Installed Polk 6x9 coaxials in the front this weekend with no amp....the sound quality over stock is greattt
what else do I need.....this build is on a budget. Don’t need top of the line. Don’t think I’m going to run the amp to the speaker..... I bought the hook up to do forscan.
going to get this amp off amazon...
gonna order this install kit.
do I need a converter for the stock radio?? Thanks guys

FYI, Boss always inflates their numbers and has had a lot of issues with longevity. I've had a lot of success with Skar Audio products which use underrated numbers and back up their products using amp dynos. https://www.skaraudio.com/collection...act-amplifiers

What amp you need depends on your component choices and end goals.
What subs do you have exactly (model & ohm rating)? Do you want to amp the rear speakers, or just fronts + subs?
I would steer VERY clear of anything "Boss".
IMO, the hands-down best budget amps out there right now are Pioneer.
The GM-D9605 could be a good choice to power your entire system.
As for wiring, look for "4 AWG", not "4 gauge". "AWG" stands for American Wire Gauge, and is a standardized specification. "4 gauge" means nothing without the AWG designation.
For the type of wire, OFC (oxygen-free copper) is better than CCA (copper clad aluminum) as it's much less prone to corrosion/cracking, but it does cost more.
For connecting the amp, the ISO-SOT-984-w harness is what you want.
