New System...Whats needed?
I'm looking towards to future, hopefully Christmas, and need to know what i would need to have a good stereo for my Screw. Does anybody know what i would expect to pay for all new speakers and to have it installed? Also what would i need for a possible sub? Is it even worth doing if i was just going to run one 12" or would i need two 10's? Also what would be some good speakers to put in it im looking at several things but don't know a damn thing about systems. I dont want to have something you can hear a block away but i want an improvement over stock, anything could help it, so any advice as to what direction to go towards will help.
Thanks for the help!

I have the installation guide on how to remove the door panels. The speakers are so easy to do yourself. I can try to email it to you if you want a copy. If that doesn't work I can fax it. The stereo is also easy to replace yourself. Cost would depend on what you really want to get out of it.

If i just wanted to go for the speaker route now all i would need is speakers no wires etc? How many speakers would it take to replace everything?

6x8 components up front and 6x8 coax 2ways in the rear should be it for your speakers. I like Infinity Kappa, but also hearing good things about Polk MOMO's... It would be best to replace the stock head unit and/or amp the front speakers to increase the sound quality. For subs, I would do two 10's so that you can conseal them better. Good luck!

Tx....for a decent system (speakers, replace head unit, etc...), what's the average cost?
I'm always a bit amazed at how much some of these things can go for. I was looking for some Polk Audio speakers (for my house actually) and the price climbs high FAST.
I guess my other question is when do you start paying a lot more money for not as much gain in sound quality? Know what I mean?

Polk momo's 6.5" components are ~ 180 a pair on ebay but require an adapter to work with our 6x8 holes. The adapters are about 10 bux... Definately the way to go (as far as 6.5" vs 6x8) But like I said, I have not heard the Polks, the Infinity Kappa 6.5" Components are about 150/pair...
