I'm getting one sub, I could always buy another one down the road and then get a more powerful amp, but I found a kenwood amp which pushes 500 RMS at 4ohm so that would power it a lot better, could I wire the sub and make it 2ohm somehow?

I'd look into Sundown, FI Audio, DC Audio, or RE Audio..Those subs are inexpensive and really gets the job done...

After all my research I have FINNALY made all my decisions and will be ordering them in shorty. My 6x8 speakers are kenwoods and are 80 RMS per speaker. My 4 channel amp is the Rockford Fosgate PBR300x4 and run 75 RMS per channel but the actual output is around 86. For my mono amp I wanted to get as close to the alpine SWRT12 RMS of 600 and after looking I found a great deal on the alpine PDX-M6 which turns out 600 RMS on both 4 ohm and 2 ohm, which works cause the sub is 4 ohm. And I had a hard time finding a good amp with a price for an amp with 600 rms at 4 ohm because they were like 1200+ RMS at 2 ohm and I felt like those are ment to power like 2 or 3 12's not one haha. All the reviews said they had them hooked up to like 2 15's and I only have 1 12. So the alpine fits. I'm going to go to a local shop and look for boxes. I
Still deciding whether or not to have them install it all or tackle it myself... Either way I will post pictures and review on all of that once its all put in. Thanks.

Just something to consider, that amps 600rms @ 1 ohm is rated at 14.4 volts. You'll never see that much unless you do some serious electrical upgrades

Yeah that 14.4v is hard as hell to maintain.. He'd definitely have to upgrade his electrical and battery

He would need 2 batteries and a decent alt in order to keep it at 14.4.

OP, you dont need a large sub, 10-12" in order to get good bass. I have 2 sundown audio sa-8 d4 v2's, dropped down to 1 ohm on 1200 watts @ 13.45-98 volts. It rattles everything in the truck even with deadening material. I also have an rf t400 amp for my mids.

I think kenwood amps are a joke. Im also not a fan of a 5ch amp either. 2 amps, one for mids and one for the sub (s).

Big 3 upgrade is the first thing you should look into. Then start from there. You dont have to get 6x8's, they are junk. They make 6.5 brackets that fit over the 6x8 holes.

Just remember, nothing is more important them the power source. Its the heart of the entire system. Same goes for cheap *** rca's and speaker wire. Go to knukonceptz.com for all your wiring.
Heres my build thread in case you are interested..
