Default New pioneer HU question

So I just got the pioneer avic-x930bt to replace the stock ford single disc HU, however, I had a question over if this HU needs that added cable/resistor that others refer to that allows DVDs to play while the truck is in gear.

Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, all aftermarket head units will not play a movie while driving unless They are bypassed.

All you have to do is change a position of one of the pins on the pioneer head units power connector. I have done it on my 910BT and on my current z130BT. Works great. Several tutorials posted on YouTube.

go to your local autozone and pick up a relay, needs to have certain pins on it though. not sure but I think it's 56, 87, 58, 57, not in any perticular order. or if your lazy you can pick one up off eBay for around $5-$7 an it comes wires an covered you just need to connect it

On the avic x930bt you have to move the yellow wire from its pin slot up one and then ground the wires out. Pretty sure relays will not work with that model. I just did one in my truck a month ago. YouTube is your friend.
