Yea, car audio is outrageous. I haven't bought a fuse or distribution block in years. I just use a couple of bolts, bar of copper/brass or other conductiong metal, and an ANL fuse and there you have a fused dist. block for $5 bucks from your local hardware store.

I hear ya man. My sister works for Crutchfield, so I get her discount; or else I couldnt afford the Focal FPS, Rockford T1500, and focal comps.

As for the mining cable; I live in the coal mining capitol of america, right on the WV/VA/Ky border. So, I can drive 5 minutes and have about 20 different options for picking up Mining cable and electrical supplies. If you need some, let me know. I'm sure I can ship you some 1ga cheaper than you can get it at an audio store. I've pulled over 400 amps through mine(non continuously) and it held up without heating up or giving any sign of decomping. Ive use it for "the big 3", all my amps, and winches.

Actually, that Raptor 4ga. came from Cruthcfield. Wal-mart's wire is the red and it actually looks thicker than the Raptor. It's compared with the 1ga I used for my big 3.
