Default Need help with wiring

I just bought a memphis pr12d4 today. I was wondering if i could hook it up to my memphis sc 4.55 4 channel amp. I am fairly new to this and i cant find a way to bridge it to run just the one sub. Is there any way to do this or will i have to buy another sub and run them in bridge mode?

if you cant bridge the amp you can get a duel voice coil sub.it is one sub with 2 inputs

Didn't check the amp specs, but you should be able to bridge two channels of the amp to each voicecoil.

Well the problem is that when the amp is bridged its 230 rms x 2 and my sub is only 250 rms so bridging two channels to each coil would be too much power.

Shouldn't hurt it if you keep the gain low and no bass boost. Only other option is to run one channel to each voice coil (only using two channels). You could try that first and see how you like it.

turn down the gain control . some amps are over rated and tested at 14.4 volts.distortion will kill speakers more than power will

You are talking about using the 1 amp for 1 sub?

Yeah, that would be a little much. You could always turn the gain/level way down on the amp? I'd bet you could get away with it. Probably not the best pairing of sub and amp though.

If you went the two channel route, you could power your front (or all four) speakers with the other two channels.

Ok i found the manual for my amp online and i have it running in three channel mode with my sub on the rear channel and my front two speakers on the other two channels and it is working fine. But next week im getting another pr12 and getting the memphis pr 1.500 and gonna run them off that and use my 4 channel for my door speakers. Thanks for the help.
