i went ahead and order the sub from walmart.com and pioneer amp D9601 for $230.00...what you think? also in future i want to amp my speakers..do u think D9605 would be better?

That sub is rated for 300RMS not 500!!! You should have gotten the other amp so you can power your door speakers as well as your sub at the same time.

He will be fine with that amp and sub. Just set your gains correctly and you will be laughing. I am running 500 watts to my 400rms sub with no problems at all.

i will prob go with 5ch amp..since i will be powering my door speakers as well..but i have heard that sub prob wont fit behind the seat.

I have that sub and have not found a way to get it behind the seat as I originally planned on doing. It fits great under the rear seat and is easily removed if you need the storage space.

why are you going to order a 5 channel amp if you already have a mono for the sub? plan on running 2 subs?
