With Sony after signal summing.

So just to confirm you're taking a signal from the sony amp, then, not directly from the HU - correct?

Edit: Let me just ask my questions all in one thread. It almost sounds like you're getting a digital signal before the amp outputs it thus avoiding the distortion. Is this the case? Or are you just taking a high level input from the amp?

If you are somehow getting the signal before the amp - can you elaborate how you're doing this? What year is your truck? I've been lead to believe this entire time by many sources that taking that signal and using it yourself is not (feasibly possible). If you are, does your factory volume still work fine? Bluetooth calls, audio, sync voice, etc all adjustable?

It's high level output after the amp. You can take pre amp output but will lose volume control. I have adied a DSP remote which can control volume and let you switch inputs. But I don't think losing all the steering wheel functionality is worth it.

Ah okay, that's what I figured. From what I can tell it isn't possible to take the source before the amp.

Unfortunately the factory sony amp causes distortion especially since the voltage (even high level) fluctuates throughout a song making setting "safe" gains quite difficult (while still maintaining good, loud sound quality).

Were you summing the sub output? It is notoriously clippy. The front stage outputs are much cleaner.

Do the front and rear outputs not have crossovers that don't feed a low enough signal to be processed into a sub signal? I am currently running a LCQ-1 with front, rear, and sub signals summed and it has pretty good sound quality. It does have an accubass function that attempts to correct the factory roll off though. I haven't had much time to mess with it though so I would be curious to play around with it.

I'm using the front stage outputs going to a Mosconi 6to8 v8. You still get a ton of distortion around 3/4 volume and a decent amount of white noise at 0 no volume.

Did you make sure the Mosconi provides a load for the channels? And do you have any channels that are not connected to anything?

By any chance do you have the ecoboost model with engine noise enabled?
