Metra head kit for 2013 xlt
Found this (http://www.metraonline.com/part/99-5830B) head kit for a '13 xlt and was wondering if anyone has tried it yet and if they'd share pictures. I personnally like the looks of the Advent OE navi setup from this thread (https://www.f150forum.com/f30/heads-...g-soon-225763/) better but it's not out yet, and I don't like being limited to a specific head unit.

I've emailed Metra questioning them on this subject and when they respond I will post here. All I want is a jumper to splice an amp in between factory HU and speaker harness. Looking at some of the pics on their site I think I saw something that would fill the bill but not sure yet.
Definitely keeping an eye open for progress.

So they want to switch the AC and head unit positions? That seems odd to me. Does the 4.2" screen had to be retained? I was looking forward to this as the stereo is my least favorite feature of the truck, but if it is between this and the Advent, I think I will go Advent. Even if I don't need the nav. This just looks odd and out of place to me.
Like I said, I was actually looking forward to this because I would love to be able to just completely remove the SYNC system with an aftermarket head unit. The only thing I would like to retain is the bluetooth microphone, but I would like to find a way to connect that to an aftermarket head unit.

Well Metra emailed me back and said they do not have a jumper harness for inline amp install "at this time"
Sounds to me like they may be planning for one. Keeping fingers crossed.

I'm hoping when they get the Advent in they'll sell the kit without the Advent head unit, otherwise I have a $700 Pioneer paperweight at home.

This is exactly the scenario that sent me looking for a new 2012 on 1/1/2013. I knew that the change in the dash setup was going to cause issues with aftermarket audio. Luckily I found exactly what I wanted still on the lot on New Years Day.
