Line level vs Speaker level amp inputs

Use Forscan to turn the speaker outputs from the OEM headunit to lowlevel and simply solder some female RCA's to the speaker wires (do a search, lots of how to info). Defeat the factory EQ while you are at it with Forscan. Fuse 23 on the passenger side is your remote wire (use an add a circuit fuse tap).

Nope. You did not read my post. Use the Forscan software to reprogram the Factory head unit. You can convert the high level factory speaker outputs to low level outputs with zero distortion. You can also get the signal flat by defeating the factory DSP. Then solder some RCA's onto the factory speaker wires which Forscan converts to low level.
For the code, this is it:
ACM
727-01-01 xx5A xxxx xxxx
727-01-02 00xx

via your laptop. The cable is cheap and you can do lots of fun stuff to the truck... search for the forscan thread in this forum... lots of neat stuff and you save your stock settings so you can always revert back.
Fuse 23 behind the passenger side footwell is your remote wire (use an add a circuit fuse tap). I have one in my truck, I will check the model number shortly.
No need for a LOC. Forscan is cheaper, more "custom", saves space, and you can add a DSP later if you find you need one.
Rather than splicing the speaker wires to RCA cables (there are DIY), I purchased some female RCA plugs that I can solder the speaker wires to, then I will plug my RCA cable into that. They should be here shortly from Hong Kong. Obviously, do the forscan setting change beforehand.

Finished my install and all went well. I am more than satisfied with the results. The only issue I'm having, and one many others have also, is the chimes (backup alert, key in ignition, door open, etc.) are barely audible. They continue to play through the speakers, but one can barely hear them.
Thanks for the advice on going with line level outputs..

Forescan works extremely well. You can also use these cheap things for the speaker wires to RCA.
