I'm bringing this back up. Since I seen a few people asking about this. Cliff notes. Stock amp on kicker is 200 watts. The sub can handle 400 watts. The amp I used was kicker 400 watts with remote bass control ****

Yes I removed built in amp and powered the sub with the Kicker amp. Way better sound from the sub. I ultimately removed the amp that powered the full range speakers and installed a Audison Bit10 DSP and a 5 channel Alpine amp. I traded that truck in back in 2017 and still miss that system. The Kicker amp in the picture has powered a 10” sub in my foxbody for years.

Would you happen to remember/have a part #? My search has been fruitless for the actual part #. If I can find the box cheap that would be nice. I have considered the sony and BO 8" which I'd re-sub and use a Taramp or similar class D but the 10" option is better for SPL.
