kicker L510
This may be a dumb question but I have a 1600watt 2 channel boss amp and I was curious if that is enough power to make those subs sound good. Btw they're ported boxes for the subs. I don't know all that much bout this so any advice would be great.

well, you need to start with the actual specs of the amp and sub.
Googley told me that the L510 runs 450rms@2ohms. We know nothing of the actual specs of the amplifier. That being said, I have 213 watts going to a Pioneer flat 10in in a sealed box and it bumps quite nicely. Im not sure what your definition of "good" is, but mine doesnt include 1600 watts low range and nothing else.
So, lets get some actual model numbers for that sub and we can go from there. You do have some variables, ohm load of the speakers and amp, etc....

it says "max" 800x2 @ 2 ohms. Are your subs 2 ohms? If 4 ohms, you will be putting 250 to each sub. Your amp will be fine. I wouldnt bother will the remote gain stuff, set it where you want it and tweak the EQ on your headunit.
there is better stuff out there, but if you want to be a budget baller, you will be alright.

whats the fuse rating on that amp? you will maybe see 300 watts of clean power out of that amp, be careful with the gain and leave bass boost off, that amp clips very easily and will toast that l5 quick

yea i believe it, you get what you pay for with amps, there are a few exceptions with some companies though....look at the fuse rating, if its 25 amps of fusing, your getting around 250 watts, 50 amps of fusing, around 500 watts..thats the general rule of thumb for knowing how much your getting without clamping the amps

how many 15 amp fuses?
take the number of fuses times the amperage rating of each fuse on the amp. Then multiply it by 14.4. That will give you the total possible output of your amp at 100% efficiency. No amp is 100% efficient so i usually take your number and multiply by .6 that should give you a close approximation of your power output.
example
and old school orion xtr 1400 had 6 30 amp fuses in it.
so take 6 x 30 = 180
now take 180 x 14.4 = 2592
now take 2592 x 0.6 = 1555.2 watts rms
