Kicker Hideaway vs. Memphis

The WPT power isn't constant, it's only on when you first unlock the truck (for X minutes) or when the truck is running. The REM wire is what tells the sub to use the power source and turn on.
As to the signal, I forget, sorry. There are multiple threads about the signal with the WPT though

Yeah I am not impressed with Cerwin at all. So when you start the truck for the first 10-15 minutes the power & protect blink in and out perfectly synchronized and never produces any sound. Then randomly again between 10-15 minutes it starts working and stay working. I think there is a micro-fracture in the circuit-board somewhere so when it warms up then it makes connection, once it cools it fails again. This has done it since new and I never really realized that it was occurring until recently. When it is working this thing is super boomy. Not what I would call quality bass at all.

Haas,
I agree the bass was muddled but thought that it was just the settings. I couldn't get it to stay on because of the remote turn on. If you don't want to tape into your factory speakers I recommend purchasing thePac-TR4 remote turn on module. It's $12 and solves the faulty signal. Good luck.

Hello DogHauler,
I recently purchased the memphis nanoboxx and had to audio shop install it for me.
They ran the power from the battery to power this sub and im assuming they connected the sound from one of the speakers with a splice into the high level input.
I do not like the way it sounds, its just not getting that low hit you expect from a subwoofer. If I convert the high level connection to RCAs and plug it into the low level will it sound better?
I see that you did that, I just want to make sure if it made a huge difference.
Thanks

There was a difference going from high to low with programming, definitely cleaner but not as loud.
Have you adjusted your settings on head unit and the box itself? You had them run power from the batter and tap speaker wires, you might as well get a custom bigger power setup if you want a lot more bass. I liked the nano because it offers a great sound for the price without tapping or running wires which is what I wanted.

What speaker channels did they use for a source? If they used the rear channels, those have a high pass crossover at 70 hz. Anything below that will start fading away which will limit your output significantly. Especially considering a subwoofer is expect to play all frequencies below 70 hz. You need to verify what source they used first.
