Question for those with the Kicker Hideaway powered sub. Do you have to use the remote wire or can it be powered on by speaker signal?

Some people find that the remote turn on by the speaker wire doesn't work correctly and end up using the remote wire anyway.

Mine comes on with just the speaker signal. No remote wire needed.

Mine works fine without remote wire. There is about 2 min delay in turning off, but it works great. I started with SO B-8PTD, but what a junk that was. That one required a remote wire. Hideaway is a much better unit and I am quite surprised how much mid-bass it produces. Very musical.
