Default Kicker Hideaway (2015+ w/Sony)

Has anyone replaced the Sony Subwoofer in a 2015-16 with a powered sub, like the Kicker Hideaway? or just added the Kicker in addition to the Sony?I am wondering specifically about the factory amp and whether or not you can use both--Kicker and Sony Subwoofer--since the Kicker is powered? or if once you have the Kicker installed you can use the (Sony) amp for something else--like aftermarket door speakers for example. Thanks.

People have removed the Sony sub and added the Kicker and others have used both. And some have powered aftermarket speakers with the Sony amp and some have totally removed the Sony system.

I am powering aftermarket door speakers with the Sony amp and kept the Sony sub. Trying to decide it I am going to leave it as is or add a sub.

The Sony amp has built in crossovers so you couldn't use the sub amp for anything other than a sub.

That's kind of what i thought... So, you could use the kicker hideaway as a second sub. Thanks.

Yes or replace the Sony with the Kicker using the factory sub wires. You would also need an amp wiring kit with a connection from the battery.
