Tomorrow morning I'll try splicing the red wire from cam into the purple/white wire and the black to a ground somewhere.

According to 12v guy, that is not a good idea and could damage the Maestro. I had mine there and it worked fine, but after reading. His post I went and moved it to the red ACC wire on the Kenwood harness. Still works fine.

I tapped into red power wire between maestro and hu as per 12V guy suggestion and it fired right up. Thanks to all who helped it is really appreciated.
