I was afraid that I was eventually going to bump and break the thumb drive that was sticking out of the USB socket, and I also didn't like how easy it would be for someone to reach in and take it when I left my truck unlocked for a short time, so I bought an 8 inch right-angle male to female USB cable from ebay. It's just long enough to reach to the ashtray, and there's even a cut-out along the edge of the ashtray so you can run the cable inside and leave the drive there. It's very inconspicuous now.
