Why is no one build a box to fit 2 -13.5's ? I have seen a few boxes getting .7cf per space for a 12" sub and double plate'n the mounting face. So without the double face we are getting closer. I say take out the 3/4" extra face and move the face 1/4" lower and have a full 1" of extra air space and that should leave the sub 1 and 1/4" off the floor. Correct? What would air space be then? The key is, it can be done, just not done yet.... If I am wrong please correct me.

BTW my 2 JL 13's are on the way.... I get a bit worked up when someone says it cant be done. LOL all the more reason to do it!

If you took this box

and recut the holes to fit the JL13.5 sub it should work fine. The JL requires .08 cu ft per sub... and the box gives. .95 per sub. Plus the mounting depth is ok... over double the room. What do you guys think... wouldn't this set up be awesome...

No big deal on the holes. Just recut them. The box would fit perfectly.

opinions... gator ?
The JL 13tw5 requires .80cf. sure that is what you meant but just fixin it.

Well I think the plan so far is to build my own box. As it seems without a "seat lift" there are no boxes built with enough air space for the 13's.

I will post when I get it done. subs should be here mid week and box should begin.

as for your spl ? i have two precision power pcx104's in my center console sealed box and ill do 122~123(with windows down) some songs. (rap) thats just with my phones spl meter... by my gauge cluster, not by the windshield. may be upgrading to some fosgate p3's sense i cant find pro model precision power subs anymore.... and my box is a bit too big for the two "sound quality" subs... in my trans line ported box i built, (computer designd) if i member correctly, with the same subs i was doing 126spl. but that was a p.i.a and the box used the 80% side of my back seat. and looked trashy havin my back seat folded up all the time

so from a person with custom box experience on these trucks i can say theres only a certain amount of space under there. lifting the seat is nice and can gain a ton of airspace. i actually have a dual 12 box for screw 04-08 with seat lift kit fs right now. i can say it probly cant be cut out for your 13.5s. wich means custom box. the benefits of the 13.5 over a typical 12 is pretty nice. if your round kansas i could build it for you.

Well thank you, but i think I can build it. I have built the box for my old 13w6. After talking to a few award winning and record setting people, I think I have the box figured out. Just need to build it. I think the dual 12" box, can be cut and "refaced" and cut to fit 13's. shhhhhh
