Default JBL Concert Upgrade

Hi folks,
Newbie here with a 2017 F150 XLT 3.5 EB Screw FX4. It has the standard non-sony stereo with the 7spks with Nav. I have searched on the JBL upgrade and most of what I have found in some like it and some don't. Most everyone agreeds it was not worth the 2k plus when it came out. Now that the price is down to about $900, do you think it is worth it? I want to do just a plug and play install, so I'm looking at this or the dual amp kicker system. The jbl appears to be more complete with speakers that have the adapters and such. The kicker would have me adding speakers and assorted pieces to mount them. It is also approx $300 more just for the setup sans speakers. Thoughts?
Thanks
Brett

Are you stuck on PNP systems only? Upgrading the door speakers is super easy with the correct wiring adapters....PNP. Do that and add a powered sub. That would not be PNP but is not that difficult. What I did and very happy with the sound. A good upgrade would be in the $500-$600 range at most.

I just purchased and installed. With a center console it's a nightmare. I had to cut the harness to get the cables down the small hole.

Once it was installed the sound was ok.

The mids and highs are good.

The subs are crap. It sounds good at half volume. Low volume you can't hear it. Loud it puts and spits and cannot produce the sound. It will blow the speaker.

I am returning It asap and pissed that it wasn't easy to install at all.

Its easier to run the power cable to the back and add a powered Sub.

This is exactly what I did as well. I am extremely happy with the sound now. Very easy to do. I also did Dynamat Xtreme inside each door while I was installing the speakers.

Tally...Correct. Same thing I did and very happy. Putting in a sub takes a huge bass load off the door speakers so they don't distort. Even without a crossover I don't have to have the HU bass control over 1/2 to get all the bass I need.

So everyone is keeping their systems stock and just adding a powered subwoofer.

No not everyone. What is suggested is a simple upgrade that you could try.

Yes I did. Non Sony here.

Put Kicker speakers in the doors and a 10" sub and Alpine sub amp under the rear seat.
