They are shipping the cable out today.........
I also called Peripheral support, the wrong 8 pin cable connections I
made should not have an ill effect on the gateway...
We will see... to be continued

Amazing what the correct cable will do........
Have satellite and all radio functions both from the dial and steering wheel controls, not concerned with the aux input from the gateway
for ipod..... the only hang up now seems to be with
the sync system, no voice commands and no controls
either from the steering wheel or radio controls
Any thoughts gents????
Thanks again for all the help

Rev you when hit the sync button on the steering wheel
does the nice lady say sync please say a command?
Mine does not I feel the gateway may be bad
and yes I am on dip switch #2
Gonna contact where I made the purchase tomorrow tired
of messing around if I can't get a new gateway I'm
asking for a full refund and cancelling my sirius sub

Mine does not when I hit the sync button, voice activation
shows up on the led, then disappears in about in about
three seconds,no voice and goes back to whatever
radio function was playing
My guess is a bad gateway
go figure........

Hi,
I have a 2010 Ford F-150 with the Sat Ready radio, and I had the iSimple Gateway installed. Sound quality is very good, but not only do you only have 6 presets (and there are 10 buttons) but the display only shows 12 total characters, which means the text is very often cut off. It does not scroll and you cannot press any buttons to show the rest of the text. I was told by PAC Audio that there is no firmware that can fix that - these products were designed back when Ford had radios with only 6 presets and less text. The only fix is if they designed a new interface. Maybe it's petty, but I find that aggravating at times.

I wanted to add a little to this thread since it helped me installing the isimple gateway on my 2009 F150 last night. I found the documentation, while complete if you read all of it, was not intuitive at all. The cable names are an incomprehensible jumble of letters that probably mean something to the engineer who designed them.
1) The order (and position) of hooking up the cables is crucial. The special Sirius (SCC1) Satellite tuner cable MUST be connected to Port 2 of the Gateway and the Ipod cable MUST be connected to port 1 BEFORE you connect the main harnesses to the vehicle. If the Gateway gets power before the Sat tuner is connected, it will initialized incorrectly. If this happens, unplug everything, wait 5 minutes, then start over.
2) The order from doing it many times last night is: Sat tuner to gateway, Ipod cable to gateway, main harness cables to radio, display cable to harness and to display, harness females to vehicle males, gateway harness connecter to gateway.
3) I guess I missed this from the instructions, but there is a cable that goes from the main harness to the back of the LCD display. This is easily accessed via the tray on top of the dash. This left me confounded for hours as to why I wasn't seeing a display.
4) Dipswitch 2 seems to be the one for Fords.
My overall impression is that calling this thing "iSimple" is false advertising that should be met with a class action law suit. It should be called the "i-Incredibly finicky." Also the DIN connectors for the Ipod Cable and sat tuner are cheap and loose, so you have to be careful when putting it all back together.
The final surprise was a dead battery this morning. I had read elsewhere that old firmware could drain the battery so I pulled the unit AGAIN and did the firmware updat via my PC only to find it was up to date, so it must have just been the hours of working in the vehicle with the dome light (etc.) on.
Hopefully this helps someone else. Once the unit is working and hooked up correctly it sounds good and integrates with the factory stereo.
Also, there's a very good vid on youtube showing how to get the radio out easily with minimal panels pulled.
