Did you leave the amp remote wire turn on connected? Are you even using the remote wire for power on or does the amp sense voltage via the input to turn on? Does the pop happen if the HU is off when starting the truck, (u powered it off b4 shutting engine off)? Do u have the PAC gains set at their max?

All additional information you can provide will help.

Yes I left the remote amp wire connected. I am using the remote wire for power. Pop only happens when I start the truck not when turning the radio on or off. Pac gains at factory levels..thank you for any h elp

If u turn off the radio, shut off the truck and then turn on the truck do u get the pop at all?

What is factory on the PAC? I set mine at about 80% and dont recall what factory was.

Yes...and no if do quickly then no it does not if I let it sit for a couple of minutes then restart it then I get the static pop...seems like its in the tweeters mainly.

I am at a loss, if it were me id bypass the amp and pac by running a jumper from HU speaker wire out to speaker wire in and see if the pop occurs. If not then I would bypass pac by the same speaker wire to the amps highlevel input and see if it poped. If not then I would connect pac speaker out to amp high level to see if it was just a rca issue. Of courae I would unhook all other speakers for this test but you are going to have to start bypassing items to narrow it down. I would say check the ground but it sounds like u already did.

That just means your amp isn't getting an audio signal. Doesn't mean amp isn't the culpret. I'm not suggesting that it is, but you can't be sure that it isn't.

You know what? Are you using OEM battery? Try disconnecting your other amp, then start the truck. Do you still get the pop?

Also, cycle the key to ACC position instead of actually starting the truck, see if it still happens.

How many watts are you pushing? the PAC unit may be only rated for a certain amount. Do you have OEM stereo? Not sure which PAC unit you are refering to. If you are refering to PAC FRD-24, I am not familiar as I made my own. If you are refering to MSFRD-1 please share how you are running an amp from it, because if you are, you shouldn't be without an additional adapter.

Keep in mind that if you ground too many things to the same grounding point (this typically happens in the mess of wires behind the HU) you will get voltage feedback. If you are noticing the pop in the tweeters, man this may be what is happening.

Yea, I guess you are right, he needs to start bypassing items to see when it stops and then you will find the culprit.

Thanks guys ...ok running pac frd1 straight to an audiocontrol 2xs then taking that signal to my bass amp mrp m500 and my highs amp a cadence zrs c9...in all 120amps...1000 watts max. The remote wire is from the pac unit and I basically took that wire and twisted the wires for the rest of the remotes to that one. No pop When turning on in the acc position and I am running the stock battery. I moved the highs amp ground to another point on my back cab. I haven't tried the new remote wire yet.

The problem is with the audiocontrol 2xs that sends the signal to your amps or your amps. Disconnect one amp at a time to isolate the one that is causing the pop. Switch your input leads to the amps to confirm
