no distorion i do have a switch for the sub to manually adjust as needed. They are still installed just by-passed.That 8in sub hits and very clean sound. My just totally remove the kicker system and have a stealth box installed under the back seat. location just installed one in a 2015 XLT. believe they said it was a 13in sub.

Default *New* 2017 XLT Special Edition Owner

Hi all,

Was hoping to hear from any 2017 owners/successful installations? I am really on the fence on whether or not to get this system. Not a fan of the distortion at start-up or the price tag.

This will also be my first ever mod in a vehicle, so that is also holding me back, however I am handy.

Thanks in advance

Default Second Option

I found that my FORD dealer will sell AND install just the kicker sub for around $637... How much of a difference is this than the PowerStage? Is it worth it due to the price and get a different amp possibly?

Any help would be great.

How much of an upgrade is this over the 2016-17 Sony system?

Can anyone verify this? I am installing this kit Sunday and just read this on an amazon review...

"Top Customer Reviews

5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent buy it

Verified Purchase
Excellent buy it!
Note;
use brown and red stripe wire on existing wireing harness/ connector , (hidden behind drivers side, passenger door 3rd pillar) (this is normally used for OEM Sony power amp)for both DSPAnd sub amp.much more simple and clean install , instead of going strate to battery for +12V. Mine works great! And you do not have to penitrate firewall or even open the hood!
Route both +12v power lines to both amps back to 3rd pillar, use existing fused OEM connector (brown/ red wire)for both amps. Its plenty of power for the kicker mod.. this is a much better way then going to the battery!1

Sounds like this could save some work, anyone have any experience with this?

Out of curiosity here - why would people spend $700 on these systems when you can buy a kicker hideaway sub/amp for $200? Wouldn't they just do the same thing without the fancy OEM fit?

They would do the same thing but the quality of the Soundstage is better. Just take a look at the enclosures and amps.

I don't understand it either. I guess they are not confident in doing the install on their own. They want PNP. I upgraded door speakers and added a powered sub for under $500. Love it.

Did you find the brown and red stripe wire behind the drivers side, passenger door 3rd pillar the amazon review was taking about ? I am looking at adding a sub soon but haven't done any car audio stuff in over 20 years. Where would this pillar be? Near the back seat in the folded up position? My truck is a 13 so it might be different.
