So bassicly the box to face the subs up would need to be 12" tall if u can fit that 9" deep and 24" wide the externaly mount the aeroport so its outside the box. I would guess it will be louder than any two forward firing subs in a single cab u have ever heard
Take it slow on the box build man its always better to fit two pieces and see if they fit then add another piece and see if it fits. Go one piece at a time until you are comfortable with the box and seat position.
I can't design the box for you. Just give you a general idea.
In pickups fire the subs up and port sidesways thats usually the best bet
nice..thanks for replying..hey where did u get those dimensions?? those are what i had in mind!

so i should build 2 separate boxes right?

and i dont get what u mean by the "port side ways"

No two subs would be in that and get a 4" aeroport
http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com...-complete-kit/
You just cut a circle out of the side of the box and mount the flare on the inside with some screws to the box. Predrill first so you don't break the port. Its pretty self explanitory when u get the port.
The port is in 5 pieces and you just gorilla tape it all together. The port will not be in the box it will be coming out of the side, because if you put the port in the box it will more than likely hit the subs. The exit to the port would be facing the door or side of the truck cab. Try to keep the subs at the far opposite end of the box from the port and mount them with about 4-6" of space between the two subs
If you only want one you need a box half that length and use a 3" port, keep the same rule of thumb when using the ports external and mount the woofer at the opposite end from the port opening that way you get the full volume of the box exiting as fast and as in one mass as possible.
The drawing you made is good just at the 9x12 end of the box or whatever you come up with that's where the port will be.
If at all possible brace the large sections together "the front and back" because they may be prone to flex. Just go to lowes or home depot and buy a large dowel rod for a brace
I have a box bassicly built in the same manner but with an internal port so if you need pictures I might be able to get them

if u can shoot me some pics..would be chill..and i will read your post again and try to come up with a sketch of what you tole me in design..t

ok lets see if i got what u are saying..i drew it out again on paint..sorry for my art..
it seems to me like that box at 24" in length and 9" wide and 12" in height is to small for s SA-8??? i was thinking of building 2 boxes one for each sub with those dimensions.
but anyways tell me what you think..here is the drawing

That's perfect you got it! The box demensions I gave you comes out to be a little over one cube.
The 8s recomended box volume is .6 per sub... So if you could get another half cube out of your truck and make it fit you would be golden! Maybe if you could sqeeze a 34" long box in there it would be perfect. That's like 1.5 cubes. So after driver displacement it should be about right.
Just make sure if the box is 34" long there is about 16" of free space for the port to fit. And keep the port opening at least 4" from the side of the truck so bassicly 50" alltogether and maybe mount the amp to the backwall behind the port. I'll get some pics up tomarro its late right now.
