Default iDatalink Maestro and Climate control question-

quick question. I had that Alpine x009-fd2 installed but had a question on my heat in the truck-

I had a romote start installed by Ford and When I go into my message center options Setting>Vehicle>Remote Start there is a climate setting for the truck to warm up during remote start. this does not work and my cabin is ice in the AM.

my question-.

does iDatalink Maestro that was installed have any setting that would stop this from happening ?? I noticed that my little lights on my heater setting don't light when i start the truck so i have to manuly turn them on

(any connection)?

just dont want ford to beat me up on fixing this when i bring it in-

You should be able to choose Auto, or Last setting! Ive found that Last Setting, seems to be the best choice imo... ymmv...

Maestro would have nothing to do with yourR.S. settings. I have ford R.S. as well. Mine functions as it should, no issues.

I may have finally got my answer-

From Mark(12V) from iDatalink Maestro ..

Our first firmware releases did not support operating climate during remote start. Our later versions did. You most likely just need to update the software in the RR module that came with the FD2 package.

So have you then Updated your Maestro Rr, to the latest version and tested the R.S. out?

My only question is where to get that stand alone cable on the left needed to do the flash update-

is it being used already installed in the truck ??

Looks like a standard USB cable- USB has 4 or 5 types of "standard" connectors though, mini and others. There are two connections on that left hand side that look very similar, but if you've got an android phone or other similar device the cable that goes with that is the best place to start without having to buy anything new. Is the port on the Head Unit easily accessible? Can you take a pic of that? This will help identify - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB

Its unused when the meastro is installed. Its only use is to flash/update the module.
