Hey I just ordered the 7120, ipod cable, and the direct wire for my passport 8500.

What else will I need to make this work?
How hard is it to install? Im not stupid but I have never done it before.

its not hard to install, just give yourself some time

you will need wiring harness and dash install kit, then some basic hand tools

Also what is the best practice for mounting the GPS receiver?
Video Bypass? I dont plan on watching movies but I dont feel like pulling over to change stuff on the GPS.

Also I want to hardwire my Radar detector. I have the kit, but what wire should I hook up to so it turns on and off with the vehicle?

the easiest way is to just hook it up to a toggle switch for the movie and gps, all you do with the kenwood ones is ground out the parking break, as for the radar detector most people plug into the radio themselves but its on all the time unless you shut it off manually

I just grabbed the Kenwood DNX 5120 with iPod controller, steering wheel controls, bluetooth and Sirrius radio tuner and got entire package for under $800. Shipped today - can't wait to get it installed. After a lot of research on two forums I opted for Kenwood.
