Default Help me choose a sub?

Which would be recommended for an Alpine MRP-M500 amp(300w rms @ 4ohms/ 500w rms @ 2ohms)

Polk audio (8") mm840dvc 4ohm- 250rms/ 500 peak

Polk audio (10") mm1040dvc 4ohm - 350rms/ 700 peak

Alpine (8" Type R) SWR-843D 4ohm - 350rms/ 1000 peak

The Polk 10" and the Alpine both have a top mount depth of 4 1/2". The Polk 8" is 4" TMD. I shouldn't have any clearance issues with that dimension should I? Being mounted down fire under the rear seat of my '11 screw. Also I am building my own box.

So which would sound the best? Nobody around hear carries these subs but I've heard good things. I'm not looking for earth shaking sound, just enough to give some beat. Mostly listen to country (80%).

Also, can a 4ohm sub be ran at 2ohm? I'm pretty new to car audio

As far as them sounding the best, its a personal preference. I'd personally go with the 10" polk subs but i love bass. How much do you use the floor space under your seats?

Rarely to never. 2 kids and the car seats never leave the truck so I never even fold the seats up.

If the sub is a DVC (dual voice coil) 4ohm , then it can be wired to be either 2 or 8ohms.

If the sub is a SVC (single voice coil) you are stuck with that impedance unless you add other subs. For instance, you could have two- 4ohm SVC subs and wire them in parallel to a 2ohm or 8ohm load.

I run two of the newer Alpine type R 10's. Very reliable and great in a sealed box.

Go with a sundown audio sd-4 10 it will pound and mounting depth of 4.75 inches which will fit under the seat with a spacer for the box with the woofer facing down. You will be very happy with that setup

Well I just purchased the polk 8" used on eBay. Anything that sounds better than the stock system with polks in the doors will make me satisfied. If I don't like it then owell. I spent $50 and the seller noted that he had it in his screw for 6 weeks before purchasing a new vehicle. Hopefully all comes out well
