Default Help adding amp to sub wires!!??

I want to install an aftermarket amp and heard you can hook up by cutting or splicing sub wire anyone please help me confirm or the correct way to get the amp to push the sub??

I tapped my Sony sub input wires to connect a LOC for my powered sub. The wiring code for my 2014 is below. Might be the same for you.

Subwoofer (+/-) purple/green - green/white (1); grn/pur - gray (2)

If equipped, the sub harness is on driver's side rear, behind the B pillar plastic panel, on the floorboard. You can purchase a harness pigtail to connect and use the lower middle two wires for your signal. There are several threads here in the audio section that show the details
