If we have a hard install that requires custom mounts we use HDPE and/or ABS. They work well, extremely durable, and don't have any issues with mold.
Sorry OP for hijacking this...

Custom mount made out of 3/4" thick HDPE was my other choice and custom make them like I did with my MDF mounts that I am using currently. But if something is available to purchase, it would look better than my custom work...not that anyone will ever see it in reality.

Not bothering me. I am trying to learn. What does our HushCarAudio friend recommend for a 2014 XLT, with the regular system (Non-Sony)?

I am looking to come in at $100 or under. Looking for a front two door speakers, tweeters and crossovers component set.

I'd say the 6 x 8s would give you more midbass but others would argue this point. For $100 or less I'd say most options are about the same in quality.

Great thread guys! I too am looking to upgrade my sound system. I was going to pick up the kicker door kit from Stage 3 but now I'm rethinking.

I am still working on this. Are the back door speakers in a 2014 Super Crew the same size as the front door speakers? I am buying a component set with the front doors and pillars included, but I want to buy two speakers to change the back as well.

Thanks!

Yes, all 5x7 (or 6x8) size.

LuketheDrifter,

Did you decide what to do for rear speakers?

Oddly, it is cheaper to buy another full component set than just get two 6x9's that closely match the JBL's recommended above, which I am going with (unless I am failing to find the right thing). I am thinking I will just install the front door speakes and pillar tweeters and see how that sounds first.
