Heads up: Advent OE navi for 2013 F150 w/factory display coming soon

That looks pretty good!! My only complaint is I like how the lower half of my console for the heating / cooling is configured. That is why the ADVENT design had so much excitement being built up for it. It matched what is in the truck.

Happy new owner
Best news ever! I've only had a couple of issues with Sync but having a better option to scroll through 5000 songs is fantastic. I was kicking myself for not at least getting the myford touch instead of just the myford 4.2" because at least that would have been an improvement.

I think Advent is purposely building us up for sales, they know how bad people will want something they can't have then all of a sudden it becomes available and WHAM they will command high prices.
I hate f'ing marketing ploys like this but they love them because they KNOW it works. Soon as the Alpine becomes available I'll get the one with the best features and the closest to OEM in appearance.
I hope their marketing department loses this one and consumers reap the rewards with a lower cost higher quality product. Ok Advent, Alpine has just put YOU on notice.

The issue is completely Ford's. It's very well known in our world that Ford does not play nice with aftermarket companies, and they certainly have no reason to help anyone develop aftermarket products for their vehicles, so they don't. If they reported their development to any aftermarket company, they might as well send that report directly to their competitors as well. That's why every aftermarket manufacturer has to reverse engineer anything they add to the data bus. When any manufacturer does finally "crack the code" that allows their product to operate on the data bus, all Ford has to do is update their system and change one bit to completely throw that aftermarket manufacturer back to the drawing board. This is what has happened to Advent.
It's entirely possible that Alpine or Kenwood or some other manufacturer will beat them into these trucks, but from what I've seen of the Alpine, it does not maintain the factory controls, which may be by design because they would have to deal with the same issues that Advent does if they tried to maintain them.
We'll just have to wait and see who has the best R&D staff, or what factory features you will have to lose in order to add any other radio to these trucks...
