Default Fuse size for power wire

Simple question that doesn’t jump out at me in the instructions that came with my 300w rms Pioneer monoblock amp (GMD8601).
I ran an 8 gauge line and opted to put in a 60a in-line fuse with the install kit I bought. It came with a 60&40a.
Did I pick the right one?

The online manual (page 10) says 100-amp fuse: MANUAL LINK HERE

Good luck!

Now another question arises, I routed about 16’ of 8 gauge. Please say that is acceptable as I’ve read that up to a 400 w amp this is alright.
Should I have used 4gauge?

8 AWG is fine up to 400w for that length, though best bet is to go off of what the amp manufacturer recommends, and always leave a margin of error particularly if you are going to chain more than one amp at the end.

It never hurts to go up a size particularly 8>4, it's not that much more expensive or hard to install and leaves you headroom for expansion without having to run everything again, but your install should be fine.
