Are they closed cell foam? I am mainly interested in the part that goes between the speaker and plastic panel to direct music right out the opening. I am looking at the version by Stinger.

Same exact product, they have a partnership now.

As for the foam, I am not 100% sure but am assuming so.

ss speaker tweakers are not the same thing as the OP was asking about. not even close. they are used to breakup backfire sound waves and offer no protection from water. they are mounted on the inside of the outer door skin (in car audio applications) and never come in contact with the speaker.

like it was posted before the foam baffles work great for being a water repellent when you open up the back and bottom, and that is about all they are good for.

Unless you are going super high end audio, you probably won't be able to tell the difference between using them and not.
FAST rings are much more than ss speaker tweakers. FAST rings have 3 components and while one of them does the same thing as the tweakers you also have a ring that acts as a mounting baffle and another as a wave guide. they are great products and i use them in every install i do.

I asked about the baffles because I was looking of a simple, cost-effective way to help improve the sound when I replaced the door speakers.
I figured since I was going have the door panels off, that would be the time to install baffles, or deadening, etc.
The FAST rings sound like they fit the bill for what I'm looking to do.

the FAST rings are good at what they do. you will probably see the biggest "gain" (if you will) prom properly adding cld to the doors and "sealing" the doors as much as you can. it will never be a sealed enclosure as there are weep holes in the bottom of the door to allow water to escape, but it will be an improvement.
