all it is is a special kind of dash install kit, you wont have the options of all the factory functions though, many of the buttons wont work...thats also why i stated he should get aftermarket things then get a rf 360.1 and be done with it..i did state all that

i know what you stated and what you didnt answer. Have you installed said "kit for aftermarket things" yet? Does the dash install kit match the OEM woodgrain in his lariat? what is to be done with the info screen at the top of the stack? how is the AC control integrated?

none of those other systems mean anything related to HIS question......The Mark Levinson system in a Lexus is NOT the Sony system for an F150, which by the way IS the system upgrade. These are issues that need to be addressed, especially with the design of the center stack in the 09 trucks. I would be very hesitant to offer the advice you have offered without actually working on the system.

BTW, I did research "aftermarket things" and they are NOT readily available. This issue is a real point of contention.

thats nice. I have come to the conclusion that your knowledge is a bit lacking in both substance and critical thinking. For every specific question that has been posed to you, you have answered it in an ambiguous manner and have reverted to mentioning one piece of the puzzle. You have given advice based on a lack of product and application knowledge. I know exactly what Rockford's OEM integration system is, assuming I do not because I posed more answers to your nebulous statements do not at all mean I am not knowledgeable. I highly suggest you do a little more work on understanding the platform this forum is based on before throwing your weight around because you are of very little help.

My response is the SONY system isnt so hott. Too restrictive in the bass area. Now im not much on rap or R&b but those genres reak havoc on this system. And my modern country and rock has a lot of that same bass. Some stuff sounds great. But The bass doesnt go deep and it actually cuts out (decrease) just after 1/3 volume level. So the bass dies as the volume goes up. You have to crank it a million turns too to turn it up. However, the SOB doesnt distort, lol, I'll give it that.

LoganBerry is actually answering some of the subsequent questions if you know your products. The RFQ is a signal processor (although a lower end one - but the one Im considering) that cleans up the factory head units signal, removes safety limits, and converts the line leads... thus allowing you to retain the factory head unit and all its functions (sync) yet still add ammps, subs, etc. Hope this adds a little insight!

I'm about to replace the factory Sony sub with two 12inch Kicker CVT enclosure and 700w amp. $575. I will need the RFQ to do this.

The only center console kits available are the OEM NAV conversion facia... however I DON'T THINK this will work because the factory NAV eliminates the need for some controls that you wont have on an aftermarket head unit. Basically, you control some things on the stock NAV screen (sync) which you need buttons for w/o the OEM NAV. So that facia wont work because it eliminates some Sync button openings bc the OEM NAV does that on screen. So I too am stuck bc I dont have NAV and dont want to lose Sync... but I really want a DVD headunit, DAMN!

Make sense... Im typing as I think, lol

Im just wondering if I can run the RFQ off of the wires that are in the stock Sony amp in the rear... thus eliminatingthe need to pull the head unit to wire in...???

I don't know about the stock amps, but i installed a 3sixty.1 and amp and new door speakers into my truck (2010 f150xlt) and didn't have to remove the stereo or any part of the dash, and all my functions work just as designed. Tap into the wires for the front speakers in the kick panels, rear speakers in the front door B-pillars, and im sure the leads that go to the factory amp (the wires were there even in my truck, just connected to nothing, even the roll down rear window harness was back there, just hooked to nothing since i don't have it).

good luck
