Sub under the back seat.

Sub under the back seat.
I've seen sub enclosures for my 97 S'cab that go under the back seat. However they all talk about having to lift the seat to be able to use them. Currently, I have the sub mounted in a "custom box" in the center console.
My question is has anyone used the boxes that require the seat to be lifted? I'd rather put the sub back there but I have my kids back there sometimes and I want to make sure that they can be safely buckled in if the seat is lifted.
I'm using a single 10" sub with a 4 1/2" mounting depth so the seat would only have to be lifted an inch or two but obviously my kid's safety is much more important than my sub placement.
(Of course, I turn the sub off when the kids are there.)
Thanks for any input.

I had 2 down firing 12" subs in my 02 Screw. I went to home depot and had some wood cut to raise the seat up for the box to have enough room. Everything still functioned just fine and the back seat passengers never noticed the seat was lifted.
