Default Factory dash/radio Help

Has only pulled the stock radio out and apart is a 2015-2016. I want to so something like this https://www.f150forum.com/f119/2015-...ll-mod-346579/. I found the stock trim and climate controls for a good price so I would have a space. Just looking for some input.

Looks a lot like the 2014 radio. Why not wait for a plug n' play dash kit?

Might be worth it instead of buying parts and modifying them.

Looks like estimated date of shipment is in 3-4 weeks. That too long to wait?

I called Metra, they have no ETA and said they don't even have a part number yet. Said it could be next year.

I've been looking for awhile and got lucky finding one at a salvage yard. Going to order later today.
