Do I need an LC7i or DSP?
I'm getting all my gear installed tomorrow.
2018 F150 base 6 speaker system.
2 amps (synergy)
2 12s (Kenwood excelon)
4 speakers (two 6x9 components and 2 6.5 coax) (infinity kappa CSX and 92ix)
Now the dude is recommending an LC7i because of bass rolloff (am not changing HU) and whatever other pros.
I already used FORScan to disable the factory EQ and have flat line outs basically so I was planning on regular line converters. I don't think most people understand how to do that so I doubt I'll have any bass rolloff either way.
Question is would I really get any benefit from using an LC7i or a DSP in my setup?

Go with a Dayton 408 DSP. It will blow away the LC7i. I have the factory HU and it converts the High from the HU with out any issue. Plus, it's 150.00 for the unit, but get the Bluetooth adapter with it.

I guess I'm confused on what an LOC actually does, and doesn't using FORScan to turn off the factory EQ do the same thing an LOC or even a DSP (without the tuning, let's say on a flat setting) do or what am I missing?

I am assuming you are talking about a "Line out converter". It takes high level signs from the radio's AMP and decrease the voltage to around 4 volts for "RCA" level inputs. It also help to decrease the distortion caused by the head unit. IE a way of clean up the signal from the OEM HU. The problem is that the LC does not do is any DSP and very little EQ functions for your audio. You get the raw sound from the unit and it usually sounds like crap. The DSP will do wonders, trust me. Also, the is a guy on the forum name "DHMCFADIN". Just send him a message (or he might response to this post). He will go in to more detail on my the DSP is a better choice. He is a great guy and know is stuff! Don't waste your money on a Line out converter, the DSP by far is the better choice. If you need any more help or have question please ask, the DSP is real easy to setup as a base level to get good some and with some tuning you will have great sound.

The link is the best place to get it as far as I know, you also might want to pick up the Bluetooth adapter down the road. It's nice to be able to configure it on the fly with out a computer. If you need help setting it up, just shoot me a PM and I can send you a base config file.

No factory eq roll off on non amplified systems.
DSP always over loc. The lc7i is old technology that is expensive and featureless for what you are trying to do.
