SCREW = Super Crew

That's pretty much what I had hoped, but I figured there was some reason that the audio websites always seem to list the F150 compatibility on these types of units starting with 2004...even though the factory radio is double DIN.

I hated to buy a replacement unit just to find out that there is some goofy bracket design or "special" wiring in my year model that makes it incompatible. I'm sure I'd hear, "Why do you think the sellers/manufacturers list compatible vehicles?" Probably from my kids! Which would wreck my air of moral and logical superiority!

I believe your 03 is closer to a din and a half. You should be able to find walkthroughs to fitting a double din, but you're looking at some trimming to do so.

I did an online search and found a lot of good info about installing a double din in a 2003 F150. Crutchfield didn't have any suggestions. Looks like I'll need to get out the Dremel and start (carefully) cutting.
Thanks!

But, to answer your question.
I would buy from Trustigo in a heartbeat compared to Autodvd...
As far as other vendors selling this exact unit? Not that I could find.
I know the unit has been on some kind of backorder due to a world wide shortage of chips. Also I understand their is a newer version of this radio
I have seen a pic and although its nice looking its not very stock looking.
I'll see if I can find the pic and post it up.

If you can stand to wait get it from Eric at Trustigo.
Finally found another vendor http://www.smartauto24.com/ford/ford...f350-head-unit But this one looks slightly different, as the buttons are labeled differently. Also could have sworn that one of the sites I looked at said their unit was running WinCE 5.0. Damn never thought this would get so friggin frustrating. But unless someone says something soon, I am going to order from TrustiGo, cause the smartauto24 is only $3 cheaper going with the lowest shipping estimate, and I have heard no feedback on them as a vendor.

And Sniper or PcWiz, there should be no problem using a wireless USB network adapter on this right? And I mean aside from the usual driver crap. Also has anybody tried the DTV? I am wondering if it is even worth the bother, as I have no idea how much actual content is available. I have had DirecTV, and now ATT UVerse for the last 15 years, so I don't even know what you can get OTA besides local 2-13 channels... Oh yeah, any experience with backup cameras? I already have the sensors, but thought the camera might be cool. Is nightvision neccesary, or do the backup lights throw enough light to do the job? Figured I would try an knock all this out at once. Don't wanna have to keep pulling the dash apart to add new goodies. And lastly how bout headrest monitors? Should all the "universal" ones work in our trucks? I have an '08 FX2 so it has front bucket seats (black leather)...

Hopefully I will get all this banged out in the next week or two, including new Memphis Audio speakers. I will have to do the sub and amps later, still can't decide on building a box, or getting one of the plethora prebuilt ones out there. Also can't decide on "10's, which I have always used in my past builds, or trying out a "12 or two. Also not sure if I want to lose the jack (any good relocation spots?), and run duals, down or up firing, ported or sealed, blah, blah, blah, too many friggin options!!!! Sorry for the bombardment of ?'s, just finally wanna get the audio system off my checklist, and move on to other areas of the truck...

Thanks!

As far as I know, you should be able to use a wifi adapter with it no problem once you get the drivers installed. But like I said earlier this will only allow you to acces the interent from the WindowsCE desktop. On my unit, TheSniper had opted for the internet add-on, which more or less adds in "internet" button to the homescreen for browseing. Only problem is this looks for dial up networking, which wifi is not. I have yet to start messing with wifi and trying to get it running but TheSniper may be able to tell you a little more about it.

I haven't heard much about the TV stuff, I decided I didnt need it, I'll just play a DVD or video from the external harddrive I'm using.

As for backup camera, I don't have one on mine yet. I'm planning on using an "emblem" camera from the 2010's. I've seen them in action and visibilty is just fine. Other option is a tailgate handle camera, which is the option TheSniper took. In my opionion, nightvision is not necessary.

I don't really know about the headrest monitors, I would think any would work fine, the cd player just has RCA outputs for them.

Some good news is tho, the cd player is really easy to remove on these trucks, I've done it so many times now messing with mine, I can have it out in about 1.5min.

I'm also thinking about adding a sub. I've decided to go with a single downfiring 10". I really liked my old Rockford Fosgate Punch 3 10" I had, hopefully can go that route again, (if it will fit in the box) I don't want to move my jack and all either. Still havn't picked out a box tho.

No problem on the questions, I'm the same way, I'd rather do plenty of research and get it right the first time.

I'm really interested in getting of these. They seem to be just what I'm looking for, as far as what has been included in the write up. What is the best website to order from? Does anyone have any installed pics?

Well since I am in the same boat as you, I can't yet speak from experience. But that being said, I have been doing a bit of research on these units. So far the best reseller appears to be TrustiGo on eBay. That is who I am going to be placing my order with tonight. Wish me luck...

I can order mine without the Internet option, and basically add the "button" etc. myself right? As a matter of fact I haven't seen the Inet option listed on any of the vendor sites other than autodvdgps.com. And considering the going rate for USB wifi adapters $150 is pretty steep, especially since I don't really see using it a whole lot. And I guess I will do a bit more research on backup cams instead of buying a universal cam from TrustiGo. And I'll wait on the TV too, as I don't really watch much local broadcast programs...

Default Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!

Wow, just when I am ready to pull the trigger and order from TrustiGo, I do a last minute check and find ANOTHER vendor! And this one is in SoCal, El Monte to be exact, and they offer local pickup. Guess I am gonna have to put off my order and check out this new guy. Especially since he is local to me, and offers an "optional" 3 year warranty. Don't know what he charges for it, but might not be a bad idea depending on what the fine print is...

I will let ya know what I am able to dig up on this vendor. Here is a link to one of his F-150 auctions.

Also did a little more searching and found his website http://www.ottonavi.com

The adventure continues...
