Crossover switch make a big difference???
I had installed Polk db5251 components up front and db571s in the back and was fairly happy.
I left the crossover switch at 0db setting when I did the install but later felt the highs were too high even with my treble set below the halfway mark.
Well today I sucked it up and pulled off my door panels again and set the switch to -3db and put it all back together. Maybe it's a figment of my imagination but it seems like it really made a big difference!
Is this possible? I thought the db switch on the crossover only affected the tweeters but it almost seems like the bass from the woofers is better now. Just a placebo effect or could it make that big of a difference?
