Any thoughts on the remote bass control?

http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX400-1-400-WATT-D-CLASS-08ZX400-1-NEW-2008_W0QQitemZ260326527065QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_A mplifiers?hash=item260326527065&_trksid=p3286.c0.m 14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A15|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Looks like all of them come with the bass boost if your read all the small lettering. I feel smart.

Just so I don't triple post, I'll update this one.

Dude, do you mind letting me know exactly what wires and aprox. footage (I can figure the last part out, just don't know how much extra I need for "mistake" factor). If you got a link, even better :-D

do NOT buy a amp install kit, you get better sound if you run ground from your amp to the battery...but the company that makes the amp install kit saves money on there end that has you ground it to a simple location like a seat bolt...thats not a good safe ground, i would reccomend knukonceptz wire, its off brand but its a great brand, im using 200 feet of there 0 gauge in my competition truck

the refab amps arnt all that bad, just make sure the person you buy it from is either a authorized kicker rep or has a warrenty with it, usually they offer something thats about 90 days, what do you think of everything so far? i can post something with links to everything you will need if you would like...or if you have yahoo or msn messengers we can do things faster

yes comes with a remote bass control and wire, if the wire isnt enough its a simple phone jack wire so you can extend it

id say get 50 feet of 4 gauge wire, yes im sure its a lil more than you will need but its better to have more than you need than not enough..you will also need a 200 amp anl fuse and holder, a few terminals for your battery (the amp has allen wrench inputs) a 18 gauge remote wire and a set of rcas, its really very simple

This may sound dumb, but is this the same copper awg thhn etc. ground wire that is typically used in electrical applications? I think I got a couple hundred foot of something close to number 4 (might be #6....)

You say a few terminals for my battery, how many exactly. I'm sure I can get just about all my wiring and stuff free from work or my dads boss....

im sure it would be the same possibly, i know i have a few friends that have 4/0 welding wire they used...too expensive for my blood, and terminals u just need 2 ring terminal ends to attach to your battery...the more strands in the wire the better...and use at least 4 gauge, if u have 2 or 0 that would be even better

Ok, so I just went to crutchfield and took a look at an all-in-1 wiring kit for the amp. I'll probably try and piece this stuff together myself, or ebay a cheaper package, but what else would I need for the wiring and are the lengths sufficient or what should I get longer?

Thanks!

Btw, I'm going with the RE sub's with the zx400.1 amp. Probably looking to buy everything by friday, then just wait on everything to ship....

fosgate wire is really good, but if you can get some of your own from your fathers work that would be great...i would rather you buy some stuff individually if you cant get it because u wont get enough from an install kit...50 feet of 4 gauge to be safe, a 17 foot rca cable will be plenty, and a simple 16-18 gauge remote wire is all you need...very simple..

i have one of those ebay under the rear seat dual 12" sub boxes in my f150, so i could keep the whole back seat and its works fine to add a little more bass in the truck... its not something that will rattle the garage doors as you drive down the road but i wasn't goign for that or i would have removed the back seat for a big sub enclosure

12"? What sort of subs did you end up with that had enough air space?
