Well, last year I sold my 2000 F150 4x4 (extended cab with 5.4L). It was a great truck, a beast offroad, and drove beautifully on the road too. So this year when it came time to get a new vehicle to replace my old '03 Mustang GT I decided it was time for a another truck. Had a hard time making the choice between 2013-14 F150 Lariat with a nice fully loaded leather interior, or a 2012 XLT 4x4 with a plain jane interior. Well in the end I decided whats the point of having a truck without 4x4, you miss out on all the fun. Lol. Well, I ended up getting a great price on a relatively low mileage truck and I love this thing. Its incredible how much space these Supercrews have in the back. It drives so good, and its so nice to finally have something with the newer creature comforts of the last decade. Later on really want to get a nice touchscreen radio/nav system, and maybe next year I'll put in some leather seats with a center console too. Haven't gone through it too well yet, unsure what rear end it has but its crazy how much lighter these trucks feel. Between the aluminum body and the 5.0 these trucks can definitely move.

I was just curious, do people recommend going with an OEM 8 inch radio/nav or going aftermarket like a Kenwood. My truck has the basic radio (AM/FM/CD/Sirius) no Sync unfortunately. Also, has anyone been able to make the 2016+ flip key fobs work on these older models (I have remote start and all that on my current fob)? Also, did anyone figure out the wiring for the flow through center console install yet?

 

Sorry to break it to you, but that's a steel body truck... Still nice though!

Well fortunately I'm in SoCal and will be going back to Miami, so at least I get to avoid salty winter roads. That should help with the rust a bit.

 

Lol. Thanks, she's dirty. I had her for over 3 years now. Great car, tons of fun. This is probably the only one you'll ever see on Charger/Magnum rims. Going to be gone soon though.

 

I have a 2001GT vert with a 5.4 2V out of a super duty. It's rough but fun.

 

Since your truck doesn't have climate controls in the head unit, I'd go with an aftermarket system. You'll get more features that way (like Android Auto/Car Play).
