Common Rattles
#11
Wow! you guys did a really nice job with the sound deadening. I will have to start doing some of that a little at a time. I am not really getting much from the doors, and surprisingly, the truck from the factory does a really good job with keeping the sound in. I can stand outside the truck with everything closed and at the Max volume I have it tuned for, and it really isn't all that loud outside.
I guess I should have been more specific with the rattles that I have. Its not so much any of the body panels that are rattling. The roof has a reverberation at some frequencies that I know dynamat will fix. The bigger problem I have is the extremities as in little plastic panels that are rattling inside. I think the rattle in my roof is not from the roof itself, but instead maybe some wiring ran up there, or possibly the sun glass holder or one of the visors. I also have a small rattle somewhere in the dash that has been tough to locate.
My main goal was to start a thread where people can say "I found this metal bracket that was rubbing against another piece of metal on the back firewall... wrapped it with some foam and now it doesn't rub or rattle" kind of thing.

thanks man! I taped the MLV. The ccf had an adhesive back and man, was it sticky. Once you put it one, not coming off. I didn't put ccf on the floor because I felt it wasn't needed. No rattles on the floor, just road noise so I used MLV there.

I think it cost me roughly $900 in material and then lots of time to do the whole truck....but what a difference in driving comfort!
Rattles can def detract from the overall driving experience...

Makes hell of a difference huh? It would be amazing if it came from the factory like this but you know that would raise the price by like $4k-$5k

for those who will be reading this the CLD only needs ~25% coverage on large flat panels. the CCF and MLV need 100% coverage with all seams taped for the most effectiveness.
