What all exactly did you do for the install. I'm pretty stereo retarded Keep it simple please.
Thank you guys for all the help so far!!
That is a first for me. I have never seen that.

Anyway... Very simple. The only things you remove are the trim around the radio and the radio itself. Mine is woodgrain, I don't know what color yours is, but they are all plastic so be careful. I took a plastic trim tool (you can use a wide flathead screwdriver but cover it with something soft so you dont scratch it) and wedged it into the top of the trim where it meets the top tray. There are two clips- one on each side that will pop out. Once you get those two, work your way down the sides. Should be about 3 more per side. Each one is rather strong and it will feel like you are about to break this peice so be easy. They will come off, I promise. be sure you unplug the connector at the very top of the trim surround for the passenger airbag indicator light.

Once you get the trim surround off, there are (4) 7 or 8mm bolts holding the radio in. Remove those and the radio comes right out. Unplug both connectors back there and the antenna wire to get you more room. All the connectors in the kit just litterally plug into the factory connectors you just took out of the radio. The kit comes with identical plugs to put into the radio. That completes installing the box itself.

Now, depending on if you have an IPOD or not, connect the appropriate connector wire that comes in the kit (should be one for the IPOD and one universal one for all others to go into the headphone jack). Plug this into either one of the two Mini Aux jacks on the box that you just installed. The universal one splits into a 3.5mm (headphone) cord and a red and a white RCA plug. I used the RCA's since I purchased an extra cable to allow me to install a plug into my dash that I had to drill a 3/8" hole between the cig lighter and the rear park assist button. I wanted a clean factory look and no dangling cords.

Mine told me to flip "dipswitch 2" down. These are covered up by a label. Do not mess with these unless the instructions tell you to. They just control where your radio looks for a new device.

I know all this sounds a little confusing but seriously all it is:

1) Remove radio trim surround
2) Unbolt radio
3) Unplug radio
4) Plug in the harness that comes in kit to the factory wiring
5) Plug the two large harness ends into radio
6) Plug small harness end into box in kit
7) Plug in your device's corresponding cord into the box
8) Reinstall radio
9) Reinstall trim surround.

Nice! Now I need to scrape up the $150. I looked on Best Buy and it sounds like the adapter thing will let me control the Ipod funtions through the HU which is nice b/c I have the steering wheel controls.

No, I didn't get that.

Also, I do not know what a standard Motorolla plug looks like. Sorry.

I am not sure how the IPOD function works as I don't own one. I think I read that all controls are done via IPOD itself. The radio just transmits the sound.

To me, I do not like the look of aftermarket radios so this is a very worthwhile investment.

i was wondering if anyone knew if this kit would fit on an '04 f150 lariat screw. the site says 05-08 which sucks. i have only a single disk factory HU.

I have the space where the cig lighter is with the lighter on one side and the rear park assist button on the other. The space in between where the traction control button would be is where I drilled for the AUX plug.

That wire is a seperate peice and is not included in the kit.

The reason they say 2005-2008 is that so people do not buy it expecting it to fit an old body style 2004. It will fit your truck.

you guys might as well buy a new aftermarket deck with an aux jack in it, your stereo will sound so much better with the higher wattage.
