Okay, I know there are a thousand threads about installing a sub behind the back seat. That's not my purpose in posting this thread, I know it's doable. What I'd like to know is whose compact powered sub is "best" and why?

Seems like all of the major manufacturers have their take on the relatively inexpensive compact sub, but I haven't been able to find much in the line of comparison between them. I know the Kicker Hideaway works well vs the cost, but what about the other guys? Who has the best bang for your buck? I'm hoping we can try to limit the discussion to only self-contained units this time around.

Depends on your budget. JL is good but you pay more.

JL10TW3 is not a powered subwoofer. Although you can buy one in a prefab JL box, you would need an amplifier to power it. For the price of some these "high end" powered compact subwoofers, you could get a better system doing it all separately, buy a sub (10TW3), buy/build a box, buy a mono subwoofer amplifier.

Okay, thanks for the info, but that doesn't really help. I have no interest in components, separate amps, etc. My thread is about powered subs, so I'm hoping we can stay on-subject!

Anyone have thoughts on my original question?

Then go with jls 8w3 ported power sub, it has the amp installed in the box. It will sound great, people couldn't believe it was a 8" sub. And it will work with the harness plug
