One 1500 would be more than sufficient. Both subs on the ZX1500.1... just make sure they are the proper ohm load to match up to the amp.

Yeah one.. That amp goes down to 1 ohm.. Get you two 2ohm L7's and i dorget put i think series parallel takes them down to 1 ohm.. I use a wiring diagram..

I already have the Subs from previous cars and installs of mine and they are 4ohm that can only go down to 2ohm.

Okay.. My diagram says: 2dvc 4ohm wired in parallel will give you a 1 ohm load.. Wire that sucker in series and you'll stay at 4 ohms.. You are good to go!!

They are each dual 4 ohm correct? If so each sub can be either 2 or 8 ohm.

Two 4ohms wired in series will stay at 4ohms... Two 4ohms wired in parallel will take you down to 1ohm... Basically when you wire one sub in parallel you give it a 2ohm load... When you wire two of those together you get a 1ohm load.....

Does it matter that they are Dual Voice Coil?

I think i'm going to go with 1 amp...but what power? I burnt up a 3000W Class D Monoblock Power Acoustik already. The subs only peak at 1500 each so I thought 3000 would have been good, i'm thinking 4000W now?

You burnt up the amp cause you wired it wrong.. Sir please use the diagrams for wiring.. Its free online.. That kicker amp will run you about 500 bucks..

I say this from experience because i wired up my system years ago... Had a hifonics zeus amp... $799 bucks... Wired it wrong and played the **** out of it and it caught on fire.. It was wired down to a .5 load and it was only 1ohm stable..

Do it right.. Use a diagram.. The one i have covers component speakers as well..

Stay at the 1500 watt and you'll be fine.. Class D mono

The install place must have done it wrong.

I did some more looking and I can get the subs down to 1ohm stable wired together and the Kicker ZX1500.1 runs 1500RMS at 1ohm...so I think that's what I'm gonna get.

Sound right?
