bass maybe a bit too punchy?

Amps have come a LONG way! They are more efficient and more powerful. That amps max power x2 is 550. But it's rated continuous power is lower at 370 watts x 2. Those RF subs are capable of handling 500 watts each all day long with peak power at 1000 watts. There's still a lot of potential left in them. As long you aren't feeding them a clipped signal, those subs will handle more power beautifully.

It's gonna sound counter inuitive but try lowering your low pass filter to 60 hz. A sub has a lot more cone area than a normal speaker. It moves a lot more air than your door speakers so the crossover roll off is much less abrupt when talking about the frequency response of a sub. In other words, lowering the low pass will eliminate the peaky aspects and still blend perfectly with your midbass.

A large ported box is what I think you'll end up needing. Just a guess.

Went for my first drive since lowering the LP to 60hz (ish). And I would say it seems less punchy so better. I also picked up a bunch of polyfil mat to line the box and stuff it a bit to see how that sounds.

OK I drop it down farther. Thanks for mentioning the mid bass as I was about to turn the HP filter on the front/rear speaker amp down to compensate.

So thought an update as in order....this is both amusing and interesting. I so I do use siriusxm and spotify as my main music sources for the topic at hand.
So I did add some polyfill to the box and adjust the LFP to the settings mentioned above. One thing I did not think about was the spotfiy app....I had the equalizer setting turned on in the app and that was set to boost the 60hz region as well. I turned the app off and that made a difference along with the polyfil. The sound is amazing now in the low frequency range. I bought an SPL meter and plan on doing some testing on setting as well.

not sure what spotify broadcasts in but sirius uses a PAC that varies but it's rough equivalent is 128k, or slightly below a cd. probably not best to use those as your source for testing/comparison but rather a quality store-bought cd. i always suggest the eagles - hell freezes over.
