Anyone used FORScan for flat signal to DSP?

Noticed on the FORScan spreadsheet there's the option to remove all processing from the LF/Center and RF/Rear outputs. That should allow a line level input into the DSP of your choice.
Anyone tried it yet?

There was a discussion on the DIY Mobile Audio forum where this came up but I'm not sure how much success there was with it. One guy had his ACM reprogrammed but it still had a pretty wicked volume dependent EQ going on. Everything from 100 Hz and up is cut significantly at low volumes to make the bass louder and they flatten out together as the volume is raised but then everything from 15K and up is dropped significantly at higher volumes. It shouldn't be a huge deal and some may even like it but if you're audio snob like me, it will matter.

So we're not exactly sure what is actually accomplished by messing around in FORSCAN but most of the thread was discussing different interface units like the new one from PAC and processors like the JL Audio Fix.

I was hoping to avoid the Fix 82 into my 6to8v8. I'm on DIYMA too...guess I'll read up on it there tomorrow. This will be my new MECA Street truck. Haven't competed since 2014 when I went undefeated in Street. Kinda wanna shoot for that again but actually make it to Finals. I sold my last truck before Finals that year...unfinished business if you will. lol

Haha! That's exactly what I'm shooting for... Same class and everything. I haven't completed seriously since '11. Did Freezefest a couple times and April Fools Fest once but that's it. 2011 was my last finals. I did Street for a few years and came in 2nd to Kirk Proffitt 3 years in a row. I can't do fiberglass so I have to stay in Street all the time. LOL

Here's the thread on DIYMA. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...tegration.html

Have you seen the new PAC AP4-FD21?

This looks like a game changer plus it has a port to add an optional optical output which would be perfect going into a Twk, BitOne, or the 6to8 that you mentioned.

Totally plug and play with no splicing into the factory Sony amp.

I was leaning towards the Fix as well but this just seems so much better.

The review will be on YouTube next week via Five Star Stereo and i`ve been talking to Dean, who`s the head installer about it.

Well that sounds interesting.

Agreed, if you've got the Sony system, this PAC unit is pretty hard to beat and appears to be the next best thing to an aftermarket head unit. However it only works on the Sony systems which sucks. Starting to look like if you've got the 8" screen and non-Sony system, you've got the fewest options.

UNBROKEN 02-17-2017 02:27 PM

Fortunately I have the "Sony" system.

_MacLeod_ 02-17-2017 04:20 PM

Then you're set with that PAC unit. Keeps all the stock features and controls but gives you RCA outputs and even optical. It's absolutely what I would go with if I had a Sony system.

Awesome...I haven't even heard of it until now.
