Default Wire harness problem

I am trying to add a radio to my 1995 F150 (I think it is the non-premium sound - square 8 pinned plug). I bought a wire harness for the proper year and I have it wired to the radio. The power conection works but I can't get the speaker plug from the truck to completely engage into the speaker plug on the harness. The plugs appear to match up properly but it feels like the pins are too long. Some of the pins on the wire harness will actually push out of the back of the plug when I try and engage them. Do I need to try and shorten the pins somehow or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

This is a late response, but you have a factory amp above your gas pedal that needs integrated or bypassed. I usually just bypass it with the proper harness.

Got it. The wire colors on the harness didn't match up with the radio corretly. I found a wiring diagram on another post and hooked up the amp. Stereo works fine now.

Im trying to wire up an aftermarket radio I bought but I can't seem to get it to work. It keeps saying I miswired but I followed all the instructions. The only wire I'm confused about is the yellow one which it says it's for the battery or the constant power and I'm not sure which one to connect it with

Would have been easier if you had used a wiring harness. Now you need to get a test light to find the correct wire
