Crutchfield Jeff,
Hi. Question. I have the appearance package ion my 2012. The radio bezel and trim are different. Looks like a black brushed metal look. Can you gae that matching color bezel for this in the kits you all sell?

The perfect fit trim only comes in that plain black you see in the pics. I exhausted every resource i could find, and i never came across anywhere that could coat it to the factory trim specific graphics

Mr. telephone pole
which you can have about any design you want apllied to it.You can get anything from carbon fiber to camo, but it doesn't leave a textured finish.Another option for a textured finish is VHT wrinkle paint. It comes in a few colors, and is pretty tough once it cures.
Very nice install,and system.

What is the appearance package trim color called? Some kind of brushed metal.

This is what my stock trim looks like with the FX4. Its very glossy black and has these small ovals depressed in it that make it textured. I asked several hydrodipping companies, none have that pattern (not even non-textured).

These are the 4 screw holes i found easiest to use.
This is the Left Bracket. I broke off the tabs from the Double Din face bezel and glued them into the the feet on teh bracket to make securing in the vehicle more secure. They are "keyed" meaning the they are beveled and only fit in one way. Basically you glue them in place as they would have been had you used the face kit.
See the tabs glued into place, and now have made a notch and made a few holes.
Here is the LEFT bracket after being notched. IMPORTANT, the brackets are mirrors of each other so you want them to match back to back. The "Screw groove" is to accommodate the small screw which sticks out from the Faceplate back. The Notch also provides a gap for the face plate bracket.
All of the other notches Are a starting point as there will be a little "futzing" withe the brackets and the mounting to ensure proper movement of the face through the factory Dash bezel.
In the image below it is pretty close, but I did move the bracket more towards the bottom (LEFT IN THIS PICTURE) of the radio for better fitment in the dash.
The key here is that you really want the radio at or above the level of the plastic notch seen next to the radio in this image. The top should be really tight to the Airbag light, so the bottom can swing open. I noticed a little rubbing on eth sides after I re-installed withe teh new kit so will need a little more tuning, but a little rubbing is okay. Also if it gets hung up it is okay to assist the gear mech to reset into place manually so you can re-tweak.
Phew, any questions?

Can you show the mods to the opening on the dash piece? Also what are the required opening measurements? I want to use the double din dash piece I have so that it matches the truck.
