Anybody else preorder the Alpine INE-Z928HD?

Thanks for all the info jeff! I have a few more questions about installation that maybe you can help with:
- can you use your factory hands free mic and GPS antenna (even if they are not direct plug and play, is there any way to make them work?)
- I was told by alpine that the factory back up camera is not compatible, but that "any experienced installer could wire it to work." Do you know anything about the factory back up camera being functional with this unit?
Thanks so much for all your time and help!

The GPS is calibrated to the unique database and OS of the navigation for maximum performance, however, you can easily bury this antenna in the dash and still get great performance.
The mic will not likely work, as the Sync system has software which helps with the noise cancellation. I am not familiar withe the backup camera, but composite video is generally a pretty simple thing to deal with. It likely will need a true composite adapter instead of bare wire/molex. Noise can be introduced in this process.

Jeff another thing to try out is with sync, you push the little voice thing to bring up sync which asks you for a command. With the remapping of the controls, is it possible to hit the same button and bring up Siri?

Just received email this afternoon that perfect fit kit has shipped. I also had a August 17th ship date but Crutchfield is shipping early. Received Alpine INE-Z920HD last week.

Okay, so i think I have some of this figured out:
When you have the iPhone 4 connected via Bluetooth not wired, and are listening to another source say radio, the phone will still make audible and vibrate alerts when a Text comes in.
When you are listening to Bluetooth audio then audible alerts come through the Stereo.
If you are listening in iPod mode connected then all audible alerts will come through the stereo. If you are listening to Radio and have the phone connected to charge, then you will not get any audible alerts.
At this point we don't believe that Siri will work with any car stereos, but are hopeful when the new IOS 6 is released then more functionality will be possible.
I am confirming with both Scosche and Alpine about the future compatibility of the phone program-ability.
Please let me know what else inquiring minds want to know.

Any chance you can throw a function table together? Something like columns of factory ford function, andriod platform, and apple platform. Maybe rows of sync, steering controls, blue tooth, pandora, google maps, etc. Then yes or no?
